STRESS & COPING

Stress Bucket

Stress can build little by little. This tool helps you notice what is filling your “bucket,” recognize your warning signs, and identify what can help reduce the load.

What’s filling your bucket?

Think about the things currently taking up your energy, attention, or patience. Some may be big. Others may seem small but add up over time.

1. Name the stressors

Write down what is weighing on you right now. Work, finances, family, health, relationships, responsibilities, uncertainty, lack of sleep — anything that feels like it is taking up space.

2. Notice your warning signs

How do you know when your stress is getting too high? You might notice irritability, trouble sleeping, headaches, racing thoughts, withdrawing, feeling overwhelmed, or difficulty concentrating.

3. Identify what helps empty the bucket

Think about the things that genuinely help you feel steadier or more supported — movement, sleep, talking with someone, time outside, music, taking a break, asking for help, setting a boundary, or doing one manageable task.

4. Choose one small release

You do not have to empty the whole bucket today. Pick one thing that could make the load a little lighter.

Ask yourself:

“What is filling my bucket right now — and what is one thing that could help lower the level?”
